What is a QR code?
A QR code is a square barcode that phones can read with their camera. Scanning it opens a website, starts a WhatsApp chat, dials a number, writes an email or joins a Wi-Fi network, without typing anything.
Businesses put QR codes on menus, posters, visiting cards, packaging and shop counters. The codes made here are static: they never expire and don't depend on any service staying online.
QR code format
A QR sheet shows a heading, the QR code itself, and a caption saying what it opens. Keep a white border around the code (the quiet zone), print it at least 2–3 cm wide, and use dark on light: inverted or low-contrast codes often fail to scan.
For payments, use the UPI QR poster instead, which builds the correct UPI payment link from your UPI ID.

Beware of tampered QR codes
Fraudsters sometimes paste their own QR codes over genuine ones. Check printed codes regularly and tell customers what the code should open.

Do these QR codes expire?
No. They're static QR codes: the content is in the code itself, so they work for as long as the link or details inside stay valid.
How do I make a QR code for my Wi-Fi?
Choose Wi-Fi, enter the network name, password and security type, and download. Guests scan it to join without typing the password.
Can I make a WhatsApp QR code?
Yes. Choose WhatsApp chat and enter your number; scanning opens a chat with you in WhatsApp.
What size should I print a QR code?
At least 2–3 cm wide for close scanning, larger for posters read from a distance. Keep the white border around it.
