What is a price list?
A price list (or rate card) is a simple list of what you sell and what it costs. Shops display it at the counter, service businesses send it to customers on WhatsApp, and wholesalers share it with retailers.
A clear price list saves time on calls and haggling, and makes your pricing look consistent and trustworthy.
Price list format
A price list shows your business name and contact details, a title, the date it's valid from, a note on whether prices include GST, and each item with its unit and price, grouped by category. Add notes such as delivery charges or minimum order.
Packaged goods must also show the MRP on the pack itself; your price list can't be higher than the MRP printed on it.
Rules that apply
Say whether GST is included
GST-registered businesses should make clear whether prices include GST, so the invoice matches what the customer expects.
