What is a driver salary receipt?
A driver salary receipt is a signed note from a driver confirming they were paid their salary for a month. Employees whose company reimburses a car or driver allowance submit these receipts as proof, usually monthly or at the end of the year.
The driver signs the receipt; if the salary is paid in cash above ₹5,000, they sign across a ₹1 revenue stamp.
Driver salary receipt format
A driver salary receipt shows the driver's name and address, their driving licence number, who paid the salary, the vehicle number, the month, the amount in figures and words, how it was paid, the date and the driver's signature.
Check your company's reimbursement policy: some ask for the driver's licence copy or a bank transfer record along with the receipt.
